4th of July Parade

You are invited to participate in our annual Independence Day parade celebrating our Nations Independence.  The lining up for the parade will take place on Park Avenue from North Main Street to Walnut Street and in the Park Avenue Medical Center parking lot.  The check in area will be located at the Park Avenue Medical Building parking lot.  The line-up will start at 10:00am with the parade beginning promptly at 11:00am.  At check in you will be given a number to place on your entry that will correspond with the announcer’s sheet and will be placed in the line-up.  The number will need to be placed in the windshield on the passenger side of the vehicle.  All numbers will need to be on the front of their entry and attached by painter’s tape which we provide.  All late entries and anyone late the day of the parade will be put at the end of the parade line-up and may not be announced during the procession.

The parade route will start from Park Avenue and head south on Main Street.  The route will cross over High Street and will continue south with participants turning left (heading east) onto East First Street.  The parade will end at Walnut Street and you may disperse or turn left onto Walnut Street (heading north) and head back to your staging area / starting spot to unload.

Please help us have a great and smooth parade by filling out the registration form and the parade announcer information sheet and having it turned in by June 24, 2022.  Please mail or drop of the full registration sheet to:  City of London Mayor’s Office    20 S. Walnut St. Suite 100    London, OH  43140

For safety purposes of participants and onlooker, please adhere to the following:

  • All candy should be tossed “underhanded” to the side of the street and away from the moving parade.

  • Youths will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • If walking with a vehicle, you may stop but the vehicle must continue to move.

  • DO NOT LITTER.  Discard all trash or take it with you for disposal at a later time.
