Homicide Investigation Update

London Police and Fire units were dispatched to a reported unresponsive male at 255 Washington Ave at approximately 5:43 PM on Friday, April 21st. Upon arrival of units, it was determined the male had been shot and found by a girlfriend when she returned home. Medics transported the victim, identified as Jamie A. Crim, 29, of London to Madison Health where he was later pronounced deceased.

As a result of the scene and further investigations, Nilen C. Harner, 17, Springfield, was arrested and charged with Murder at approximately 1:30am this morning in Springfield. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, and a handgun suspected of being used in the murder has been recovered.

The case remains under investigation by London Police, with assistance from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office. The Springfield Police and Ohio BCI&I Crime Scene Unit assisted with the investigation and arrest. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is conducting the autopsy investigation. No further information is available for release at this time.
