Pursuit of Stolen Truck

On Thursday, May 19th at approximately 1:10pm, London Police were notified of a possible stolen construction pickup truck entering London on SR665 from the Hilliard area. An officer in the area spotted the truck entering the city on SR665 and the vehicle then fled onto Payne Thompson Rd when he saw the cruiser. The officer pursued the vehicle onto Big Plain Circleville Rd to SR62 south, through Mt. Sterling and then north on SR 38. Eventually the truck, having lost all tires due to road spikes being deployed on three separate locations and while deputies and troopers assisting in the pursuit were able to box the vehicle in, drove into a ditch off the left side of SR 38 just south of London. The suspect, Justin A. Patterson, 39, Columbus, was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property and Fleeing & Eluding without further incident. Patterson is suspected of being involved in other thefts in Union County earlier that day, as well as having warrants for Receiving Stolen Property charges out of Franklin County.

The Ohio State Patrol, Fayette County SO, Washington CH PD and Madison County SO all assisted in the pursuit of just over 50 miles, with speeds, due to the type of truck, never exceeding 75 mph.
