City of London Street Department, Full Time.

The position of Street Maintenance Worker I is now open. Applications, per the union agreement, are being accepted from 8:00am on May 22, 2024 to 3:30pm until filled.

Requirements:
The employee works under the direct supervision of the Street Superintendent.
Normal working hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm.
The applicant must possess a valid CDL.
Per the union agreement, the pay range for this position is $19.81 - $24.11 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus $.10 per hour for possessing CDL.

City of London Police Officer

The City of London, Ohio, is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. The London Division of Police serves a population of over 10,000 and is responsible for an area of 9 square miles. The department has an authorized strength of 21 sworn officers. The City of London is seeking candidates who possess the personal character and professional skills necessary to serve in a position of public trust. Applications will be accepted from individuals who are at least 21 years of age by date of hire and possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. The City of London offers an excellent employee benefit package and a starting annual salary of $25.18 an hour, shift differential,
uniform allowance, paid vacation after the first year, personal days, health insurance, educational allowance and other benefits.


Entry level applicants (those not currently employed full-time as a peace officer in Ohio) must complete a written test through the National Testing Network (NTN), Inc. To fill out the NTN application and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement and sign up for the London Police Department.


The following adjustment shall be made to the score of applicants on the condition that they pass the entry level examination with a raw score of 70% or greater. Additional credit shall be awarded

• Veteran’s credit – 20% additional credit shall be granted to Ohio residents who are honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces. (Must submit copy of DD214, including block 24, with the application).


National Testing Network does not replace the London Police Division’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to the London Police Division where the final decisions are made. Lateral applicants (those currently employed full-time as a peace officer in Ohio) are not required to complete the written NTN test. Lateral applicants are required to complete other stages of the hiring process to be considered for employment with the City of London. If selected, prior full-time service will be taken into consideration when determining starting pay and leave benefits.

City of London Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter Paramedic

The City of London, Ohio will be accepting applications and conducting a civil service examination for the positions of FIREFIGHTER/EMT or FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC until August 30,2024.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications to be considered for the examination. An applicant meeting minimum qualifications must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical condition, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license, and possess State of Ohio Firefighter I & II and Emergency Medical Technician Certifications. Applicants are required to pass a physical agility test, background check, drug screen and a physical examination prior to employment.

The City of London is an equal opportunity employer offering a starting salary range of $62,461.11 to $78,946.44 for Firefighter/EMT and $65,575 to $82,884.61 for Firefighter/Paramedic, uniform allowance, paid vacation after the first year, personal days, health insurance, educational allowance, 12 paid holidays and other benefits per bargaining unit contract.

2. Education credit – 10% maximum credit for a bachelor’s degree from a North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS) accredited college or university. A maximum of 10% will be given and the applicant must submit a copy of the Diploma at the time of filing.

3.Training credit – 20% maximum (Must submit copy of current certification at time of filing). A 10% additional credit shall be awarded for Advanced Emergency Medical Technician. A 20% additional credit shall be awarded for a Paramedic certification.

4.Current part-time firefighter employment credit- 10 % additional credit for current City of London Div. of Fire/EMS part-time employees who have been actively employed by the City of London since January 1, 2024.
