City of London Comprehensive Plan

"Comprehensive plans provide an overarching vision for the future of the community"

The City of London is updating the Comprehensive Plan!

The purpose of a comprehensive plan is to create a vision and set goals for the future that will inform how the community will be shaped over the next ten years. The final plan will be a citywide, long-range policy document that focuses on development and growth in the City of London.

All updates and information regarding the Comprehensive Plan update for the City of London will be posted on this page. Check the City of London Facebook page for announcements about engagement opportunities!

To complete this project, the City of London has retained the services of OHM Advisors, a professional architecture, engineering, and planning firm in Columbus, Ohio. OHM applies a unique approach when developing plans, integrating public input, market analysis, urban design, marketing and branding, and real-estate assessment into the overall recommendations and strategies of the Comprehensive Plan. The goal is to create a balanced plan informed by technical research and public opinion. More information about OHM can be found at OHM Advisors (ohm-advisors.com).

Committees

There are currently three committees involved in the creation of the comprehensive plan, the Steering Committee, and two Stakeholder groups. One Stakeholder group is focused on housing & development (HD), and the other is focused on community, health and safety (CHS). These Stakeholder groups share information and findings with the Steering Committee.

As part of the planning process, OHM, with collaboration from the city of London, assembled a Steering Committee to guide the planning process and preparation of the final plan. The role of the steering committee is to provide guidance and direction to city staff and the OHM Advisors team as the plan is developed, give direction on how to engage the community, act as liaisons to community groups and organizations, and act as stewards of the plan during the official adoption process
