Allison Ratcliff, adult program coordinator at London Public Library, displays wrapped books featured in the library’s “Blind Date with a Book” program.

This February, London Public Library invites readers to embark on a unique and exciting literary adventure with “Blind Date With a Book.” Leave the awkward first dates behind and let the library play matchmaker, connecting you with the perfect book companion.

Participants are encouraged to stop by the library and pick out a mystery book or two, each wrapped to maintain an air of suspense. The only information revealed is the genre of the book and its first line. This blind date promises an engaging encounter with literature, where readers can discover stories they might not have chosen on their own.

To enhance the Blind Date experience, readers will receive a “Rate Your Date” card with each book selection. After finishing the book, participants can share their thoughts about the literary rendezvous on the card. The cards will be submitted to library staff for a chance to win the grand prize drawing.

The winner will be drawn at the beginning of March to allow participants to turn in their “Rate Your Date” cards through the end of February. The prize is a candy bouquet.

Whether you’re a hopeless romantic searching for a love story, an adventurous spirit seeking a thrilling mystery, or someone who simply enjoys the surprise of the unknown, “Blind Date With a Book” has something for you.

London Public Library is located at 20 E. First St. and online at https://mylondonlibrary.org/. Call (740) 852-9543 for details.
